Fractal Counseling

Opening the door to the past can be terrifying. Looking at yourself honestly can be just as intimidating.

At Fractal Counseling, you will have the guidance and support to explore.

You can live a life aligned with your values, find deep and meaningful relationships, and learn who you are apart from the expectations of others.

Our Focus

Complex, Acute, and Chronic Trauma

Trauma responses are varied in symptoms and intensity. You may experience an overwhelming desire to run or freeze, find yourself crying at random moments, or fearful to complete normal tasks. We will identify the cause and impact before we work towards processing and resolving trauma responses. Trauma work is not a sprint. Depending on the complexity and impact, trauma work may take several weeks to over a year.

High-Functioning Autism (ASD)

Standard ASD resources often overlook the nuance of high-functioning life. I work with families and individuals to hone skills and bridge gaps in social etiquette. This could include exploring dating and marital expectations, modifying stimming behavior, or learning how to politely remove yourself from uninteresting conversations. I aim to foster meaningful engagement and understanding of your world, not remove ASD.

Women and Girls with ADHD
Cross-Cultural Stress, Fatigue or Burnout

ADHD often presents differently in girls. Forgetting instructions, twirling hair, and zoning out are common indicators of ADHD. Fluctuations in hormones at puberty, throughout the cycle, postpartum, and in perimenopause can intensify symptoms. Therapy is tailored to you, whether you want to build practical systems, understand your behaviors, or receive support in collaborating with doctors for effective medications or HRT.

Living in an unfamiliar culture can take its toll. Misunderstandings, differing values and reciprocity norms, and lack of community can lead to stress, fatigue, or burnout. This work may include grieving your past life or that your children do not share your culture, finding ways to feel more connected to your home or host culture, or discerning whether to repatriate to your home country.

First Responders

The work of firefighters and police officers is unique and stressful. Constant exposure to the raw edge of human experience often leads to secondary and vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout. Consistent use of Zyn or alcohol, difficulty sleeping, and relationship strains may indicate you are being impacted by your work and therapy may be helpful. Sessions can be booked to accommodate your shift schedule.

Partners

Caring for a partner through trauma, cultural stress, neurodiversity, or high-pressure service can lead to isolation and burnout. You deserve a dedicated space to process these challenges without judgment. I provide a supportive environment to help you manage your own stress.
